Ask Your Friends on Social Media

If you have 100 friends on Facebook, send each one a message asking them to give up one lunch out and donate $10 to the animals. If you have have 200 friends, your fundraising will grow by leaps and bounds! Always give donors updates on your fundraising goal. They’re in this with you!

Don’t Be Afraid to Ask!

Decide who you will be asking to donate. Also, it often takes up to three asks to get a response! To get started, make a list of people to ask for support, such as:

• Family.
• Friends.
• Neighbors.
• Coworkers.
• Members of groups or networks you’re in.
• Businesses you frequent.

Partner with a Local Business

Ask your local restaurants and shops if they’ll donate a portion of the day’s sales to your efforts. They normally allow you to host a night of fundraising. Encourage everyone you know to dine out to support you.

Matching Gift

Many companies offer matching gifts to employees that are fundraising for an amazing cause. This is a great way to double the money you raise. Reach out to your human resources department and ask your friends and family that are donating to see if their company does this.

Write a Letter

Old-fashioned? No way! Pick up that pen and personalize your letter with details about yourself and the reasons you’re walking — you could even include pictures of your pets! Remember your audience when you are crafting your letter. Tailor it to fit friends, family, business owners, colleagues, etc. Consider enclosing a self-addressed, stamped envelope to make it easier for them to contribute.
