Make your service hours count

Do you have court-ordered community service hours to complete for a driving offense? Anderson Humane offers a variety of service hours between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., seven days a week.

Your work supports the daily care of animals and helps keep our shelter and wildlife spaces clean, safe, and ready to serve.

Participants must: Be age 16 or older; complete a minimum of 20 hours; have community service assigned for a traffic violation or DUI; serve at our South Elgin shelter or the Elburn Forest Preserve; and follow the attendance policy.

Assignments are based on current needs and may include:

Laundry and dishes
Help keep clean bedding, towels, bowls, and supplies moving through our facilities.

Kennel cleaning
Support clean and comfortable spaces for animals in our care.

Grounds and wildlife support
Assist with yard-waste pickup, station upkeep, and wildlife-room sanitation.
