What you’ll do
- Ensure all shelter and owned animals are properly scheduled for spay/neuter appointments.
- Assist clients in scheduling low-cost veterinary care appointments.
- Be the friendly face that greets visitors and assisting them by addressing medical questions, going over post-surgery instructions, and helping them to the best of our ability.
- Use a variety of computer programs to gather the info you need to provide superior service and process clients’ payments.
- Stay up-to-date and spreading the word about our incredible programs and events.
- Maintain a welcoming environment for both animals and visitors.

What we’re looking for
- At least one year of customer service experience in a professional setting.
- Availability to work a flexible part-time schedule of mornings, afternoons, and evenings on weekdays; as well as nights, weekends, and non-standard hours as required at our South Elgin shelter and clinic locations.
- Veterinary or medical knowledge and/or vet clinic experience is a plus.
- Strong desire to work with the public with communication skills that showcase warmth and inclusivity.
- At ease learning new software programs.
- Ability to exercise a high level of professionalism, especially in emotional situations.
- A natural ability to juggle tasks and prioritize.
