Anderson Humane is looking for a flexible & compassionate part-time Adoption and Resource Consultant to care for and help our adorable animals find their forever homes at our Bloomingdale adoption center and our South Elgin shelter.

- A flexible, part-time schedule including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. This role’s hours are Monday through Friday: 8 am – 7:30 pm, Saturday: 8 am – 6:30 pm, and Sunday: 9 am – 5:30 pm.
What you’ll do
- Ensuring animal spaces are clean and that our animals are thriving both mentally and physically.
- Being the friendly face that greets visitors and assists them in finding their new family member.
- Using a variety of computer programs to gather the info you need to provide superior service and process animal adoptions.
- Staying up-to-date and spreading the word about our incredible programs and events.
- Maintaining a welcoming environment for both animals and visitors.
What to expect
- A loud, but lively environment with animals of all sizes and characters!
- The need to follow safety and organization protocols, we do work with animals after all.
- A mix of indoor and outdoor activities daily.
- To stay active: walking, standing, and occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs. with help).
- Making memories with happy families and witnessing countless joyous moments!
What we’re looking for
- At least a year of professional customer service experience.
- Adaptability & willingness to regularly work at both locations.
- Strong communication skills that showcase warmth and inclusivity.
- Are highly comfortable learning new software programs.
- Professionalism even in high-emotion situations.
- A natural ability to juggle tasks and prioritize.
