Team Building for the Animals

Available most Thursdays and Fridays at our South Elgin Shelter

Enjoy a behind-the-scenes experience with your group while supporting our mission. We include team-building activities designed to encourage collaboration and connection.

This visit includes three interactive breakout sessions:

Preparing treats, enrichment items, and soft bedding for animals in our care
One-on-one time with our adoptable pets
A guided tour of our South Elgin shelter

To help support the care of our animals and cover materials, we request a donation of:

$500 for groups of 3–6 participants
$1,000 for groups of 7–12 participants

Outdoor Projects

Available most weekdays at our Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Elburn

For teams that enjoy outdoor work, this is a great opportunity to get active and contribute to the care and upkeep of our Wildlife Center grounds.

Projects may include:

Sprucing up outdoor animal enclosures
Trimming and clearing nature trails
General landscaping and beautification tasks

This opportunity is offered without a required donation. Optional contributions are always welcomed and help support our mission.

Corporate or Group
Adoption Event Opportunities

Available most Saturdays or Sundays (location may vary)

As a Corporate or Group Adoption Event Volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in helping guests connect with dogs at local adoption events.

This hands-on position requires 4 to 10 volunteers per event.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle dogs confidently and safely on a leash
Greet and engage with the public, facilitating introductions between adoptables and potential adopters
Support adoption staff as needed—ensuring positive, memorable experiences for all

This role is perfect for groups looking to give back, build teamwork, and make a meaningful difference in a fun, interactive setting. Bring your group energy and love for animals—and help make adoptable matches happen!

Volunteer Time Off

Looking for a meaningful way to use your VTO (Volunteer Time Off)?
Anderson Humane offers flexible, hands-on opportunities for individuals to make a difference during the workweek.

With Volunteer Time Off, you can volunteer most days 8 AM–4 PM, in a variety of ways—assisting at adoption events, cutting treats, doing dishes or laundry, weeding, or supporting other shelter tasks.

Your time and effort directly support the animals in our care and help keep our operations running smoothly. Every hour makes an impact!
