The Road Home Mega Adoption Event.
Saturday, October 5th | 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. | Brilliance Subaru Elgin | 1500 N. Randall Road
Anderson Humane is once again partnering with Brilliance Subaru Elgin to find loving families for homeless cats and dogs. Come see lots of animals available for adoption and eagerly awaiting their forever home. Could it be yours?
There are no appointments at this adoption event. All animals are available to the first person who comes to take them home.
Like all animals available for adoption from Anderson Humane, these cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. We also support you post-adoption with training, low-cost veterinary care, and other resources to help you establish a positive relationship with your new animal companion.
This event is part of the Subaru Loves Pets national initiative, which is dedicated to improving the safety and well-being of animals by getting them out of shelters and into loving homes – a goal we champion every day at Anderson Humane.
All the adoptables featured below are intended to be available for adoption at our event, but their availability is not guaranteed! Adoptions are first come, first serve and we do not do adoption holds.
FAQ
What do I need to bring to adopt?
You’ll need to bring a valid ID and form of payment, we accept card and cash.
What time should I get there?
Historically, there’s typically a line to get into this adoption event. You’re more than welcome to arrive when you’d like, but if there’s an adoptable you have an eye on, we suggest getting there early.
How do I know who will be available for adoption at this event?
Once we know which adoptables will be attending this event, they’ll be posted here and on our Facebook page! Keep a look out a day or two before the event. Please note, that the goal is for promoted adoptables to be in attendance at our adoption event, but if they are feeling under the weather, they will not attend the adoption event.
Can I put a hold on a dog or cat?
We do not place holds on adoptables, we want to be fair to all folks that are interested.
Will there be adult dogs too, or only puppies?
We typically bring lots of puppies, they’re usually very resilliant and eager to make new friends! Adoption events can be stressful for adults dogs, so we only bring adults we know would be well suited for a crowded event.
Can I bring my pet to meet my new potential family member?
We ask that you keep your pet at home. This mega-adoption event is not an ideal setting for a meet and greet, and want to set you and your new potential family member up for success! If you adopt at our event, our adoption team will explain how to conduct a proper meet and greet with your new puppy at home.
What will I receive after I adopt my new pet?
You will receive your pet’s adoption papers digitally, as well as some fun goodies from our friends at Subaru! Be sure to pick up a new pet ID tag, as well as a leash!
