It was just another day at the airport hangar—until a routine removal of a 20-foot ventilation duct revealed something completely unexpected: four tiny American Kestrel nestlings, tucked six feet inside.
The crew had no idea the young falcons were there. The vent was just hours from demolition and sat just feet away from two active helicopters—hardly a safe place to raise a family. With no kestrel parents in sight and no nearby ledge or tree to renest, the babies had no time to spare.
Thanks to the hangar’s raptor relocation permit—and the team’s quick thinking—the nestlings were rushed to Anderson Humane’s Wildlife Center. Now safe in our care, they’re growing stronger each day.
But their journey is far from over.
It takes $25 a day to feed and care for all four kestrel babies. Over the course of their two-month stay, that adds up to $1,500 —and right now, they’re counting on us for everything.

💛 These babies didn’t ask to be born in a ventilation duct.
But with your help, they’ll leave here ready to soar.
Please donate today and help them take to the sky.
