The door opened, and they were ready.

And just like that, they were free.

Because wildlife rehabilitation isn’t about keeping them; it’s about helping them become strong enough to leave us.
There is something bittersweet about that moment. After watching an animal grow, heal, and gain confidence, we have to let them go.
But then we watch them run…and climb…and disappear into the wild
And our hearts fill with the kind of joy that only comes from knowing we helped give them another chance at the life they were meant to live.
For these squirrels, their time with us was over.
Their next chapter was waiting in the trees.
And just like that, they were home.
