Climbing 12,018 Feet for Stella
When Theoni Limouris decided to climb a 12,018-foot peak in Wyoming, she wasn’t just taking on a physical challenge. She was giving back to the organization that helped save her dog, Stella—and helping more animals create the same kind of impact Stella has made.
Stella’s journey began in Arkansas, where she was found abandoned on the side of a road with her siblings.
As a young puppy, she needed medical care, vaccinations, and a safe place to land before finding her forever family with Theoni.
Today, Stella is much more than a beloved companion. For the past 3 and a half years, she and Theoni have served as a Healing Paws therapy team, visiting 109 locations including Ronald McDonald House, local schools, senior living communities, and churches.
Together, they have brought comfort, companionship, and moments of joy to hundreds of people throughout the community.
Inspired by Stella’s journey, Theoni turned her mountain climb into a fundraiser for Anderson Humane.
She set a goal of raising $2,000 to help provide medical care and vaccinations for animals entering the shelter.
Stella’s story is proof that a single act of compassion can create a ripple effect far beyond one animal. From a puppy in need of lifesaving care to a therapy dog touching hundreds of lives, her journey shows what is possible when animals are given a second chance.
And thanks to supporters like Theoni, more animals will have the chance to create their own ripple effect of healing, hope, and community impact.
