This week, as we celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Week, we honor Mickey Woodhouse, a volunteer foster. His journey began not in the shelter, but on our website, where he found himself drawn back again and again to the profile of a senior dog named Verso. When they finally met, Mickey saw the reflection of a hard life in Verso’s eyes, a quiet understanding between two souls that their paths were meant to merge.
