Story #4 of 60: Piper, Our Survivor
As told by Nancy Hamilton, Adopter
We decided to adopt another dog after losing our beloved rescue to kidney failure. When we visited Anderson Humane, we found our Piper. She was a rescue from a shelter in Oklahoma, and we were looking for a quieter dog. Anderson helped us find her.
Poor Piper was healing from a large gash on her back and had bright green stitches. As we approached, she put her sweet paws on the top of the gate and wagged her tail. We just knew it was meant to be.
Piper is a survivor. She has had cancer twice since we adopted her and is still thriving. Her little brother Badger, also a rescue, keeps her young with plenty of playtime. She is the sweetest, most chill dog we have ever had. We cannot imagine our lives without her.
Adopting Piper from Anderson was a wonderful experience. We knew she was for us right away. Piper has shown us how much love we have to give.
We want everyone to know what an amazing experience it is to adopt from Anderson Humane. Animals like Piper are waiting for homes filled with love, and they will bring so much joy into your life.
