Story #10 of 60: Mirabelle Changed Everything
As told by Courtney Hamill, Adopter & Volunteer
I had been searching for a rescue dog for what felt like a long time when I came across a post for Mirabelle, a beautiful two-year-old Shepherd who had just arrived from Oklahoma. It was during peak COVID, so our first meeting had to take place outside. Even with the distance and uncertainty, it was love at first sight.
I brought her home the very next day, and she has been my loyal companion ever since. Mirabelle is always by my side, whether we are hiking, taking road trips, or finding new ways to explore together. She has brought so much joy and meaning into my life, and every day with her feels like an adventure.
Bringing Mirabelle home opened the door to something even bigger. Having her in my life inspired me to start volunteering at adoption events, helping other dogs find loving homes just like she did. Through Mirabelle, I found a deeper connection to Anderson Humane and the work they do for animals and families in our community.
Rescuing Mirabelle has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. She has made every part of my world brighter, and I am proud to support Anderson Humane and their mission to help animals find homes filled with care and connection.
